We are filled with joy and anticipation as we extend a warm invitation to you for our upcoming Athens Nazarene Church Revival, featuring the esteemed guest speaker, Rev. Larry D. Dennis.
God’s call on Larry’s life into the ministry is as vibrant today as ever. He is active in mentoring pastors, supplying in local churches, leading clergy gatherings, speaking at revivals, camp meetings and Faith Promise events. He has served as a youth pastor, lead pastor, and district superintendent in the Church of the Nazarene since 1971.
He and his wife, Debbie, have enjoyed pastoring churches in Ohio, Texas, and Florida, with average attendances from 30 to 1200. From 2000-2019, Larry served 130 congregations as the District Superintendent of the Florida District. He has also served on the board of trustees of two Nazarene Universities and our seminary. Larry spent 16 years on the General Board chairing the Global Missions Committee. Serving in various global mission areas has afforded him the opportunity to nurture and develop lay and clergy leaders around the world.
Larry was born on a small farm in Indiana. Debbie, an RN, and Larry reside in Spring Hill, TN. They have three grown sons Matt, Ben and Andy, Daughter-in-law Amy, and a 12-year-old grandson, Noah. Larry graduated from Trevecca with a Bachelors degree, earned a Masters in Church Management from Olivet, is a graduate of the School of Large Church Management, and was honored by Trevecca Nazarene University with a Doctor of Divinity Degree.
The Athens Church of the Nazarene Revival will be a time of worship, prayer, and fellowship. We welcome you, your family, and friends to join us. Together, we can create an atmosphere of spiritual renewal and growth.
We invite you to a day of inspiration, empowerment, and celebration at "I Choose Joy," a special event hosted by the East TN District Women's Ministries. Join us at Grace Church of the Nazarene for a day that promises to fill your heart with joy and renew your spirit. The registration deadline is September 16, 2023. Registration cost is $15 and includes lunch. Please see our Bulletin Board or ask Anita for more details.
We invite you to join us for a spiritually enriching experience at the Fall Adult Retreat at the Foothills Camp & Retreat Center. This retreat promises to be a memorable weekend filled with worship, reflection, and community. We are honored to welcome Special Speaker, Greg Keller, and Worship/Music Leader, Eddie Guinn!
We are thrilled to extend a warm invitation to you and your family for an extraordinary week of worship and spiritual renewal! The lineup of services features our beloved former District Superintendent, Pastor Ron McCormack, and the talented Worship Leaders, Jason & Kristen Robinson.
We encourage you to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to join us for these special services. Let's come together in faith, unity, and anticipation of a remarkable time in the presence of the Lord.
Please note that we will not be having our regularly scheduled Wednesday night service as we will be worshipping at the Crossroads Revival!
Join us in an uplifting and joy-filled event featuring live music, delicious food, and a lively auction, all in support of Grace and Mercy Ministries. This incredible ministry provides essential meals for hundreds of individuals each week at the Cooke Ministry Center in Athens, Tennessee.
The evening will be filled with performances by The Skyway Singers, The Clarke Kesler Singers, and the talented 2x2 Quartet. There will be a live auction featuring unique items, with all proceeds going directly to support Grace and Mercy Ministries in their mission to feed and care for the homeless, impoverished, and needy in the community.
Grace and Mercy Ministries is an awe-inspiring initiative, not only providing food but also extending their love and care through a church bus service that picks up people in the area and ensures they safely return home.
Your presence and support will be invaluable in making a difference in the lives of those in need. The ministry relies on donations to continue its crucial work, and your contribution can make a significant impact.
Just a reminder that there will be no evening service on this day. Instead, we are excited to announce that we will be joining hands with neighboring churches for a special worship gathering at the Lenoir City First Church of the Nazarene. This evening will be an excellent opportunity to come together as a community and deepen our connection with God. Rev. DeWitt's heartfelt message and engaging worship will surely touch our hearts and uplift our spirits.
We invite you to a harmonious celebration of faith, love, and music, where voices unite, spirits soar, and hearts are uplifted. Embrace the divine melody as we come together for a soul-stirring event - "Sunday Night Sing." If you are interested in contributing, please see Darlene Nibarger.
